Communion:Why, When, Where.

Communion: Why, When, Where.

I believe taking communion, or otherwise known as “Partaking of the table of the Lord”, should and could be a life changing touch, were miracles, breakthroughs and vital changes will occur in our life and body.

Many take communion and just go through the motions. It becomes a ritual. Something that we just do, because it’s the thing to do. Lets read through this passage of scripture below, and see what God’s Word say about communion.

1 Corinthians 11 v 23 – 31

23For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

The First point that jumps out at me would be in verse 24, and repeated again in verse 25. “Do this in REMEMBRANCE OF ME” As we partake of the table of the Lord, the Word of God say we are to “Do this in Remembrance”. Remembering what? Remember what Jesus did for us at Calvary. His Body was broken for us, He shed His blood for the remission of our sins, and He paid the price in FULL, so that today we don’t need to pay the price.

Whatever the devil would throw at us today, Jesus took care of it at Calvary. Sin, sickness and disease, depression, oppression, poverty, mental torment, fear and death were all taken upon Jesus upon the cross, so that we would not have to carry or be in bondage to any of it today. (Thank you Jesus) We can live FREE.

So if I can remember these things, what Jesus did for me, as I partake of the table of the Lord, I would be partaking of what He did for me, and I would be partaking of blessing, freedom from sin, divine health, prosperity according to God’s Word, provision, blessing, and life everlasting. If I truly partake of what He has done for me, then my life should change, and healing can come to my body, and my mind will be set free. Every area of my being can be affected by the table of the Lord.

The Second point is doing this till the coming of Jesus. Normally people take communion in church, but lets not limit it to just there. You can take communion every day if you so choose, once a week or once a month. It depends on you. I would personally only take communion once a day if God instructed me to do this. Many times people do this because others do it, and it then ends up in a religious ritual that does not mean anything.

The Third and last point I want to share with you today is where people get to beat themselves up, over and over again. Lets read verses 27 and 28 again.

27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28But let a man examine himself, ……

You have to remember this. The devil is the one bringing condemnation upon the body of Christ. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit do not condemn, they convict. Condemnation means you are worthless, never amounting to anything, and need to be removed away completely or destroyed. Conviction means, when there is conviction, then there is repentance, and then there is forgiveness, and after that comes restoration.

If you keep asking God to forgive you of the same thing over and over, then the devil is keeping you in condemnation. When God forgives, He FORGIVES and FORGETS what brought you to Him in the first place. Only the devil will continue to remind you of that. So as you are reminded you ask forgiveness, over and over again. Once should be enough. There is POWER in the BLOOD of JESUS.

This is an area where people want to dwell, because it seems to give them the most satisfaction. When you think about this, you partake of what Jesus did for you, then examine and make adjustments, forgive and move along. Jesus loves you just the way you are, and the Bible say “there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus”. Let communion be a way to be set free, healed and delivered, and move on into the greater things that God has prepared for you.

Lets pray together: Father I come to you in the precious name of Jesus. Lord I thank you for what you did for me on Calvary, how you died for my sins, sickness, poverty, lack, depression, mental pain, and anything the devil would throw at me today. I thank you that I have been set free. No more bondage, but freedom and liberty in your presence. I thank you that even from this moment as I pray this prayer, I am being set free, changed and touched by your power. I make any adjustment I need to make in my life right now. I thank you for VICTORY IN JESUS. Amen

Below are some scripture for further study of God’s Word.

I pray this has been a blessing to you.

God Bless
