Water Baptism: Do I or Don’t I?

Foundation Scriptures (King James Version)

Romans 6:1-16

1 “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 “God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death?
4 “Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection:
6 “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 “For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 “Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him.
9 “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead deith no more; death hath no more dominion over Him.
10 “For in that He dead, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.
11 “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 “Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin; but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 “What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, His servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness.”

Romans 12:1-2

1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 “And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

A Powerful touch from God.

When you got saved, it was a powerful touch from God, and your life has and will never be the same again. If you have already been baptized in the Holy Spirit, you will know that it was a powerful experience and a touch from God, and if not I recommend you find someone that can help you and pray with you. Let me ask you a question: If everything that God does in our life is powerful and life changing, then shouldn’t our baptism in water also be a powerful experience? Let’s see what happened when Jesus was baptized.

Jesus in the Jordan River.

Matthew 3:13-17

13 “Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14 “But John forbad Him, saying, I have need to be baptized of Thee, and comest Thou to me?
15 “And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered Him.
16 “And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and lo, the heavens were Sodermur opened unto Him, and he [John] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:”

You have just read the account of when Jesus was baptized in the river Jordan, and when He came out of the water, the heavens opened up and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a dove, and the voice of God was heard. I don’t know what you think, but this sounds like a very powerful and life-transforming touch, to me.

Are We Just Following?

Is our water baptism a duty, or is it just symbolic, just following Jesus through the waters of baptism, only doing it because He did? Some people go in dry and confused, and come out wet and confused.

The touch that Jesus had upon His life was powerful. From that moment on the ministry of Jesus began, being anointed by God to do great signs, wonders and miracles.

John 14:12

Jesus said, “He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto My Father.”

If we are going to do the works that Jesus did, then we need to be anointed with the power of God, like Jesus was.

Faith In Your Baptism.

Colossians 2:11-12

11 “In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins Ach Wire Payments of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 “Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead.”

When you get baptized, and I recommend it very highly, use your faith based upon Colossians 2:11-12. See yourself, the old man, being buried with Jesus and being raised together to a new life, leaving the old and putting on the new.

How can I be Saved?

Foundation Scriptures (King James Version)

“ For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which is lost.”

“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

v8 “ But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach:”
v9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
v10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Talks about what you do to be saved, and how this happens. With your heart you believe, and with your mouth you confess or speak it out. (I say it with my mouth, and believe it in my heart.) “I confess with my mouth, Jesus, you are my Lord and Savior, and I believe in my heart that God has raised you from the dead.  I surrender my whole life, every area of my life, to God, giving God complete control of my life, my thoughts, my mind, and my actions.  I now become a child of God.  I’m born again.”

The prayer of Salvation.


Here is a prayer you can pray to accept Jesus Christ and make Him Lord of your life.

“Father, I come to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Lord, your Word says if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in my heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, I shall be saved.  So Father, I confess: Jesus, you are my Lord and Savior.  Come into my heart, take out the stony heart, and give me a heart of flesh.  I believe in my heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead.  Change me, Lord; let me never be the same again.  I thank you, Lord Jesus, that from this moment on, you are my Lord and Savior, and you live big on the inside of me.  Thank you for saving me and setting me free.  I love you, Lord Jesus.  Amen.”

Now have them begin to tell others about what has happened to them.

What it means to be Born Again.

“Born again” tells us that some one has accepted and received Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

v4 “But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us,”
v5 “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, ( by grace ye are saved;)
v6 “And hath raised us together, and made us to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”
v7 “ That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”
v8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God:”
v9 “ Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
v10 “ For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

New Creation

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.”

Now you may not always feel like a new person; you may not always feel like you are saved.  The devil will try to steal your salvation from you by lying to you and telling you, that you are not saved.  God’s Word says you are saved, because you have put your faith in Him.  Salvation is not based upon what you feel or what you think, but on what God has said in His Word.  The facts are in His Word, the Word of God.  Put your faith in the facts.

Saved

Being saved refers to salvation.  Man is on a one-way course with death because of sin.  The Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”, and  “the wages of sin is death”.  But God so loved you that He gave His only Son … that if you believe in Him, you will have eternal life.

The Family

You have become a part of or born into the family of God. As you have a natural family, and take on the nature of that natural family, so now you also have a spiritual family, and take on the nature of your spiritual family, His nature, the nature of God.

Bazil M. Howard-Browne was born and raised in a Godly home in South Africa.   Born again and baptized in the Holy Ghost at an early age, he saw many great manifestations of the Holy Spirit in his home amongst his parents and brothers. He married his lovely wife, Ann, in May 1985, and they both completed Bible College at a large independent Bible School in 1986. In 1992, Bazil, Ann, and their three children Bradley, Kayley, and Jessica, came to America, and they saw God’s power and anointing increase in his life, and also encountered a life-changing experience with God’s glory.

Beginning January 1, 1994, he has carried Revival across the United States, spanning from Florida to Alaska, and from California to New York and Hawaii, Canada, South Africa, Puerto Rico and the Marshall Islands.  Many have experienced the healing restoring power of God in Bazil’s meetings. Witnessing many salvations, the churches are being stirred up to bring in the lost and the backslidden in heart as they are witnessing the Power of God to save and restore lives in these meetings.

God Ach Return Code placed it upon their hearts to move the ministry from Florida to Missouri. In 1998 they moved to St. Louis, ignited a revival fire in the city and founded River Family Church.

Through their dedication to God’s call on their lives, Bazil and Ann have received many blessings since moving to the United States. In the summer of 2001, God answered their heart’s desire for another child, with the adoption of their six-month old daughter, who they named Makenzie Sarah.

Bazil travels around the U.S.A., across denominational boundaries, seeing great manifestations of the Holy Spirit with signs and wonders, salvations, rededication, miracles and the Holy Ghost fire transforming people’s lives. Bazil and Ann know that God called them to the U.S.A. to help spread revival fire, which is already burning. Being faithful to the anointing God has placed on their lives, they are dedicated to doing all that God has asked of them.

There has been Groupe Financiere Centuria SAS a special anointing over this ministry in seeing people come into financial freedom and the abundant provision God has for them.  There have been countless testimonies of financial breakthrough in the lives of people, as they have acted on the Word of God in sowing and reaping.  Church finances have doubled and sometimes tripled after a week of revival meetings.  The truth of the Word of God holds within itself the power to free up finances in the local church.  As the Word is sown in truth, the harvest has been financial breakthrough for the church corporately and the people individually.
